Behavior and care of ceramics

Ceramic behavior:

All our ceramic products are hand-made; the moulding, casting, polishing, glazing and final finishing of the pieces is done by hand. For this reason, they may present variations in colour, dimensions and shape. We do not consider these as defects, on the contrary, they are part of the natural beauty of ceramics and its process.

One of the common characteristics of ceramics is the appearance of pinholes (small holes in the surface) as well as superficial striations in the glaze. These are not structural cracks, therefore they do not affect the quality or durability of the pieces and consequently we do not consider them a defect.

Our enamels are made with mineral mixtures, so the same enamel may vary from one production batch to another. On the other hand, there is a possibility that you may perceive the colors and finishes shown in our catalog different from the physical pieces, this is due to the technical characteristics of each monitor, being a factor beyond the control of MARVILLA.

Care:

Our pieces are fired at a temperature of 1250° Celsius, for this reason they are highly resistant, but they must be handled with care to keep them in optimal condition. The durability of the products will depend primarily on the care given to them.

Enamels are susceptible to marks left by metal cutlery. This residue is a wear and tear on the cutlery material, not the ceramic enamel. We recommend using Bar Keepers Friend & Polish - Oxalic Acid and Citric Acid to remove these marks.

For wear stains, we recommend leaving the pieces in chlorinated water for a few minutes, then washing them according to each client's daily practice.

The pieces can be used without any problem in the dishwasher and microwave, they can also be refrigerated, however, we recommend special attention to ensure that they are not subjected to strong thermal shock; this could cause the piece to break.
